Lance had the privilege of spending almost 20 years with the Lampe Law Group in Northfield, until the retirement of the partners in 2022.
The Lampe Law Group was one of Minnesota’s oldest and most distinguished law firms. The firm was established in 1887, back in the days when the Jesse James Gang’s raid of the Northfield First National Bank was still fresh in many town residents’ minds.

Minnesota Law & Politics named the Lampe Law Group, along with Faegre & Benson, Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly, and a handful of others, in its list of legal firms that have been in continual practice since the 19th century.
Partners Maren Swanson, Tim Morisette, and Lance Heisler were proud to continue the long tradition of providing quality legal services, and honored those who preceded them in the work, from original founder William Pattee to the firm’s namesake, Bob Lampe, who took over the practice in 1951.
The historic building at 105 East 5th Street in downtown Northfield, MN has been a law office since it was built in 1878. Lance continues the tradition with a solo practice office on the second floor of the building.
